Ribnička pećina (Ribnica Cave) is situated in the canyon of the Ribnica, one of the jewels of the Kolubara watershed, under the slopes of the mountains Maljen and Divčibare.

The entrance into the cave, which is at the level of the river, has the shape of a triangle. It is 12 m high and 25 m wide. The cave is inhabited by estimated 15 species of bats, which are very rare in Europe. This is one of the reasons the cave is under protection as a natural monument.

Ribnička pećina has two entrance tubes, which are almost the same size. Deep in the cave they merge, forming a big room. These two cave tubes are being explored already for two decades. During excavations, very interesting items were found, which prove that the Ice Age hunters (almost 12,000 years ago) dwelled in that cave (fire place, numerous tool and weapons made of flint and bones).
