National park Fruška Gora is 25 km away from Novi Sad and covers an area of 25,525 sq km. Beautiful sessile oak and hornbeam forests, vineyards and old monasteries attract tourists from all over the world.

Fruška Gora has the most linden tree forests in Europe. On this mountain, more than 700 types of medicinal plants are growing, and the wildlife includes deer, mouflons, weasels, wild boars, martens, jackals, wild cats and rabbits. The valleys and slopes of Fruška Gora are covered with meadows, pastures, wheat fields, orchards and vineyards.

Fruška Gora has a diversified and very specific flora. In the inner part of the national park, around 1,000 types of plants are growing, while the total number of plant species within the protected zone is more than 1,500. About 500 species of mushrooms are registered. They are growing on pastures, wetlands, flood-meadows and in woods.

With the aim of ensuring the long-term protection and improving its natural values, in 1960, Fruška Gora was declared a national park.

Great place to visit! Wonderful spirit of the area, including fresh forest air and the spirit of the old Christian Monasteries! Do combine walking inside the Park by hill's marked paths with visiting the Christian Heritage...
