Brvenik is an old fortress on a rock above the river Ibar. It is situated 8 km north from Raška. It was a centre of Zupa during the Middle Ages.

At first, it was built of logs. The head officer Musa, a son-in-law of prince Lazar, governed the Zupa, and later he was successes by his sons Stefan and Lazar. A border guard toward the Turkey was situated there, until the beginning of the Balkan wars.

Today, it is mostly in ruins, but one passage still exists, connecting the town with the river Ibar and enabled water supply during siege.
