The monastery is situated by the Ibar river in village Brvenik, in vicinity of monastery Stara (Old) Pavlica and Brvenik fortress. To reach the monastery from Ibarska highway take turning in Brvenik, which is 5 km away from Raška towards Kraljevo. It was built by the end of 14th century Musić brothers: Stefan and Lazar, as their foundation, and it is assumed that they were buried beneath their portraits in monastery church after being killed in Kosovo Battle.


The monastery was founded as female. Their mother, a wife of Musa commander and sister of Prince Lazar, Dragana, retreated there and entered monastic order and eventually died there as a nun Teodosija. After Kosovo battle, in 1392, in monastery was preserved Prince Lazar’s body for a night on his transfer to Ravanica.


The monastery church is dedicated to the Entry into the Temple of Holy Virgin. It was built in Morava Style.
