The monumental sculpture dedicated to Tito is a artwork of a sculptor Frano Kršanić. The monument is 4.8 meters high, and it is temporarily located behind the building of National museum.


The Partisan Square

Tito’s monument on the Partisan Square in Užice was unveiled in 1961 during Central manifestation of 20th anniversary of insurrection of Serbia nations and nationalities. By the order of executive board it was removed from that place in 1991.


Tito, together with the Supreme Staff of the national liberation army, spent some time in Užice in autumn, 1941 when the Užice Republic was established. It was the only free territory in the region occupied by Germany.
