Potpećka pećina (Potpeć Cave) is situated in the village of Potpeć, at the foot of the mountain Drežnička Gradina, 14 km from Užice.

Potpećka pećina has the highest entrance into a cave in Serbia – the giant portal in the shape of a horse shoe is 50 m high and 12 m wide at the bottom. The explored part of the cave, which is prepared for visitors, is 555 m long. Potpećka pećina is a spring cave. Its geological composition shows that it was formed in the Middle Triassic, in whitish limestone of a fine mosaic and porous structure. Today, Potpeć Cave is under protection as a natural monument.

The entrance path has over 700 steps. It is assumed that the cave was a human habitat even during the Neolithic Period.

The cave is open for visitors from 11 am to 7 pm, and for all visitors are organised guidance tours. Ticket price: 100 Dinars
