National Park Tara is situated in West Serbia. It covers an area of 183 sq m and its highest point is Kozji rid (1.591 m), which is part of the Podrinje Mountains. The environment is well preserved, suitable for winter sports, and rich in flora and fauna.



Forest ecosystems make 80 % of the National park Tara. European silver fir, spruce, pine, common aspen, maple and silver birch are among the plants that are growing there.


The ​​ National Park Tara occupies an area of ​​19,175 hectares.



There are also 53 registered mammals and 153 bird species. The most interesting representative of Tara is Pančićeva omorika (Serbian Spruce).



Tara has a continental climate. Average summer temperature is 15.3 degrees Celsius and in winter it is around -3.7 degrees.
