Suva Planina extends from the village Ljuberađa in the Babušnica municipality to the northwest, in two directions: the northern branch extends to the river Crvena reka in Bela Palanka municipality, and the northwest branch extends to Niška Banja municipality of Niš. The mountain is 15km wide and 45km long.


The highest peak is Trem (1810m), and other high peaks are: Dordina Čuka (1734m), Golemo Stražište (1713m), Litica (1683m), Sokolov kamen (1555m), Golemi Vrh (1535m). Suva Planina belongs to the limestone mountains.


Northwestern part of the mountain is the mountain chain from the peak Trem to the peak Mosor, and the south part of the mountain is a plateau with many lower peaks at altitude of 1000m to 1600m. Suva Planina is mainly covered with mixed forests and some juniper forest.
