Pecka Patrijarsija complex made out of medieval Serbian church buildings, high walls and guesthouses. There are four churches inside the walls of the monastery.


The oldest church at Patrijarsija is dedicated to the Apostles and was built in the 13th century. It contains the oldest frescoes of Patrijarsija. On the walls of churches you can see the history of Serbian medieval wall painting styles.



In addition, inside of the churches there marble sarcophaguses that have been preserved and are relics of Patriarchs and Archbishops of Pec.

The oldest tree in Serbia, that is over 700 years old, is located in the courtyard of the monastery of Pecka Patrijarsija and was placed under state protection. Pecka Patrijarsija is placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
